Employee Surveys are great tools for soliciting employee feedback, but sometimes, the opinions from underrepresented groups can get lost in the overall averages. Case in point: A well-known Silicon Valley tech company surveyed employees and received fairly strong scores across all Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) items. Yet, a deeper dive into the comments reflected a clear division across gender and race. The company followed up the survey with focus groups, which revealed serious issues within the company.
